Ariane Martins joined MIT VMS as Outreach Program Manager in 2013 to help advance the strategic and operational planning for its Outreach Training Program. Prior to that, Ariane had 15 years of experience in project and operations management, focused on large-scale, high-profile music and art projects with a cutting-edge technology component. Ariane worked extensively on projects developed at the MIT Media Lab, having produced Professor Tod Machover's acclaimed, 2012 Pulitzer Prize-finalist robotic opera Death and the Powers, among others. Ariane also served as Director of Operations for two MIT Media Lab spin-off companies, in which context she was first involved with MIT VMS as a mentee. Ariane is a proud full-time working mom and whenever that allows, her guitar gets out of its case. Ariane was a 2023 recipient of the MIT Infinite Mile Award.
